About Accademia Alta Sartoria Europea
Founded by Master Tailor Kwon Young-ho, and today led by Reina Inoguchi, AASE trains tailors through hands-on mastery of the complete craft — pattern, cut, sew, fit, finish. The philosophy stays the same. Only where it’s taught has changed.
Our Story
May 2018 — Founded
Founded by Master Tailor Kwon Young-ho in Gangnam, Seoul, AASE was built on a simple belief: bespoke tailoring is a craft of the hands, learned only by doing. From its first classes, AASE quickly established itself as one of the region’s leading institutes for bespoke tailoring.
January 2020 — Expanded
As word spread, so did our reach. AASE expanded into a second location in Seoul, welcoming a growing community of international students from Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Italy, Canada, the United States, and beyond — a truly global classroom, united by a shared devotion to the craft.

January 2024 — Collaboration
In January 2024, AASE collaborated with Savile Row Bespoke Academy to deliver an evening coat-making course, sharing our approach to bespoke construction with a wider community of aspiring tailors.

2027 — Stay Tuned
AASE is relocating to London — the historic home of Savile Row — to train future tailors in two great traditions at once: British Savile Row precision and Italian alta sartoria elegance. Course details, enrolment, and our new London home will be announced soon.
Why Learn at AASE
Every beautiful garment begins with someone who knows how it is made.
Many people dream of learning fashion design. They sketch, they imagine collections, they fall in love with cloth, and one day they wish to hold in their hands a garment that is truly their own.
Great garments begin with an understanding of construction. Balenciaga began training as a tailor at the age of 12. Alexander McQueen put it simply:
“I spent a long time learning how to construct clothes, which is important to do before you can deconstruct them.”
Alexander McQueen, Self Service, Spring/Summer 2002
To reshape or challenge a garment, you must first know how it is made. Yet where concept and experimentation take centre stage, this discipline can receive less attention, and many students struggle to bring their ideas to life.
Tailoring is where those dreams take shape. When you learn to draft from the body, to cut with confidence and to build a coat by hand, you understand what a garment really is: silhouette, structure, balance, proportion and cloth.
Real work skills, not a university syllabus. At AASE, we teach what a working tailor does at the bench every day, and the standards a bespoke house expects, in both Italian and Savile Row bespoke tailoring. Complex techniques are broken into clear, manageable steps, so your skill and confidence grow together.
Small classes, real garments. You leave with a garment you drafted, cut, fitted and finished yourself.
From the classroom to the atelier
A Path to Real Work
AASE also runs an atelier that makes garments for tailor houses. Students who show real skill and commitment may be invited to work with us and put their training into practice.
An opportunity, not a guarantee. It is open to those who earn it.
Everyone who wants to work in fashion should begin with tailoring. It is the first investment you can make, and the one everything else grows from. Build your foundation with us, and we will support you as you go far beyond Savile Row: a collection of your own, a place in the great fashion houses, a name the world knows.
Dream big.
It all starts with a needle, a thread and a piece of cloth.
